Clippy clean under -D warnings: slice::from_ref in a layout test

Two cloned_ref_to_slice_refs warnings in a store test, which CI's `cargo clippy -- -D warnings` turns into errors - they failed the rolling release on master (run 37152201228) after cargo test had passed. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
