The daemon would only ignore them if it had failed to lock the mutex.
And even then, it would return success and then proceed to set it up.

More and more distros are locking down dmesg and other logs.
The progress bar is needed in the GUI because sometimes lsusb takes
a long time to finish due to devices being used by the daemon.

Tasos Sahanidis cf05f05192 Rework macro code 
GUI code has been completely rewritten and UI has been redesigned

Daemon no longer supports the global delay, and the command for it
is removed

Random delays are now supported for each key by specifying it as
min_max in the delay field

Various daemon issues regarding macros have been fixed, including
memory leaks
